Why SCX now?
From a "meritocracy based on academic qualifications" to a "society of learning." Education should be for restructuring, not for stabilization.

In an era where generative AI is rewriting the meaning of "time and work," and the structure of the world is undergoing a major transformation, traditional "knowledge-based education" has already reached its limits. We will recreate a new educational system, starting in Japan, that drives consciousness rather than merely solidifying knowledge.
Three questions we must confront: When education becomes a "cage"
The three questions we face.
Education was supposed to liberate people. Why has it become a cage that perpetuates inequality? We will confront these three questions posed by our times head-on.
1. The cage of the "education-based society"
Education is supposed to be a mechanism for reducing social inequality. However, in reality, it has become a "reproduction mechanism" where educational attainment determines occupation and income, and robs people of social mobility. Many people are driven to compete not for "learning itself," but for "the currency of educational attainment." Unless this structure changes, education will not liberate people, but rather become a cage that perpetuates inequality.
2. The seismic shift in knowledge brought about by AI
The emergence of generative AI is prompting a re-examination of the very value of "memorizing knowledge." Now that access to vast amounts of knowledge is commonplace, the question is not the "quantity" of knowledge, but the "ability" to "handle" that knowledge. The assumptions that traditional education has taken for granted are beginning to crumble quietly, but decisively.
3. The absence of "consciousness"
There are countless people who possess knowledge. However, surprisingly few leaders have the awareness to continuously ask themselves, "For what purpose and how should I use that knowledge?" Acquiring management knowledge is merely a prerequisite. What is truly lacking today is the awareness of a Conscious Executive—the ability to recognize one's own inner voice and to continuously question oneself.
The SCX Professional Program, which began as a collaboration between Japan's Shibuya Web3 University and Poland's UITM educational program, directly addresses these three questions: Towards a society where people are valued not by their academic background, but by the "power of practice and thought." Towards learning that drives consciousness, rather than the entrenchment of knowledge. To connect people with one another using technology as a means, and to give back to society their own talents and ethics—that is our "redesign of learning."
Both "MBA" and "DBA"
Originally, it was a process to become a "leader who changes reality."
Both "MBA" and "DBA" should not be merely titles to acquire, but rather processes for becoming a "leader who can change reality" through learning.
The programs we are developing in collaboration with UITM are not merely "decorations" of academic qualifications. They are places to connect with the realities of the world and acquire "true knowledge" and "implementation skills" that contribute to social change. Education is not a device for creating a hierarchy of people. Education is an endeavor to help people reclaim the "mechanism for connection" once again.
From SGX to SCX – What we truly want to deliver
We launched our program in February 2026 as the SGX Professional Program (Shibuya Global Executive). Later that same year, we changed its name to the SCX Professional Program (Shibuya Conscious Executive).

This transformation goes beyond a simple brand name change. It represents a shift from a society focused on academic credentials to one that emphasizes learning. From knowledge to consciousness. It is a deepening of our very educational philosophy.
Acquiring globally applicable management knowledge is now merely a prerequisite. Beyond that, we must continuously ask ourselves, "Why am I making this decision?" and "What will I leave behind for the world through this organization?" This evolution stems from the fact that, as we progress, the outline of what we truly want to deliver has become clearer. The essence of the program remains unchanged.
Why a DBA? — Its positioning relative to an MBA
The SCX Professional Program offers two paths to evolving into a leader who will shape the future.
An MBA is a one-year path that integrates IT and management, fostering the ability to understand the structure of the world and develop a perspective that allows you to act on your own initiative. You will acquire comprehensive management knowledge as a solid foundation.
A DBA is a two-year inquiry into the very meaning of the future, stemming from one's own questions. Unlike a PhD, which focuses primarily on theory building, it systematizes company challenges and proposals for society through practical, hands-on research. It is a path to evolving into a Scholar-Practitioner (scholar-practitioner) who moves back and forth between practice and research, integrating theory and practice.

Becoming aware of your inner voice—that's another journey that only those who have reached the pinnacle can begin. For those who have already been running non-stop, there's an option to start again with a question.
When consciousness transforms
When a person truly changes, that change doesn't happen in a single instance. It involves gaining awareness of how the world looks, internalizing knowledge, testing it in practice, finding meaning, acting based on conviction, and growing together with peers. Eventually, the very self-image of "who I am" is rewritten.
And that transformation doesn't end there. It begins again with a broader perspective and deeper awareness, starting anew with new insights—a cycle of evolution that repeats many times throughout life, each time increasing in depth and quality.
We will not confine this transformation to a single "type." Within each of us lies another, untapped self. The key is to recognize that power and spread our wings of self-will. The path we take can be different for each individual.
Instead of simply accumulating knowledge, we cultivate the "vessel of consciousness" that handles knowledge, and thereby change reality.
That is the type of leader we aim to cultivate—a Conscious Executive.
