Why

Education was meant to set people free. Why, then, has it become a cage that fixes inequality in place? We face, head-on, three questions this era puts before us.

I. The cage of the credential society

​

Education should, at its origin, be a device that narrows social divides. In reality, credentials have come to determine occupation and income, and education has turned into an apparatus of reproduction that takes social mobility away. So many people are driven into competition — not for learning itself, but for the currency of credentials. As long as this structure stands, education does not set people free; it becomes a cage that fixes inequality in place.

II. A tectonic shift in knowledge, brought by AI

The arrival of generative AI calls into question the very value of memorising knowledge. Now that access to vast knowledge is taken for granted, what is asked of us is not the quantity of knowledge, but the power to wield it. What conventional education took as its premise is beginning to give way — quietly, but decisively.

III. The absence of consciousness

​

There are countless people who hold knowledge. Yet leaders equipped with the consciousness to keep asking — for what, and how, that knowledge should be used — are astonishingly few. Mastering management knowledge is only the premise. What is truly missing now is the consciousness of the Conscious Executive: awakening to the voice within, and never ceasing to question oneself.

The SCX Professional Program — begun in the encounter between Shibuya Web3 University in Japan and the educational programme of UITM in Poland — takes on these three questions head-on.
